This is home page of my 3D printing adventures.
- My logs:
gCode file, print results file, filament inventory, and things I've printed
see also Blog link above
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Overview:
- The Printer executes a gCode file
- The gCode file is created by the Slicer
- The Prusa Slicer generates the gCode file based on its Settings
- Settings are 3: Print, Filament, and Printer
- Each Setting is composed of:
parameters entered by default - based on user-selected filament type and print quality,
or manually edited per user preference
and user-entered custom gCode
- The process of printing:
- 1 - Get a file to print:
Find or create or modify a model file:
Most common is to get an .stl file of the model.
- 2 - decide what filament you'll use.
- 3 - convert the .stl file to a gCode file for your printer:
This is the process of "slicing."
- 4 - print it
troubleshoot print problems
- 5 - post-processing:
Trim, sand, sandblast, glue, heat-treat, paint, etc.
