- I have disabled autoload (Settings > F. autoload > click knob to toggle on/off)
- cut end of filament at 45deg. I also cut off the first couple of inches that are scored by being in the extruder gears
- preheat the nozzle:
menu > Preheat > select filament type being loaded
- insert filament (will beep if filament sensor is enabled?)
menu > Load filament
It will pull the filament through quickly at first, then slow down as the filament enters the heat block.
It will continue until hopefully filament comes out the nozzle.
If filament does come out the nozzle looking OK, ie. not globbed, and color is correct (like if the last filament you had loaded was a different color), then when it prompts: correct color? click yes
If you need to flush more filament through, click no, and the process will continue.
- ???if you don't initiate action promptly (about 1 min?) it will prompt you to unload the filament
[had problems, had to manually hold filament in place until it started to grab and pull itself through]
