- Bed prep:
- Most forums and on-line resources say blue painter's tape is the best thing to use
- Supposedly it needs to be changed about every 4 prints, however I do a dozen or more prints typically before changing it.
- I smooth ripples down in between prints with a wide putty knife.
- Clean bed well with IPA before applying tape
- If the tape is not wide enough to cover the bed with one piece (does such exist??), you need to butt strips of tape together as seamlessly as possible. Tiny gaps are better than overlaps. Align strips of tape at an angle to edges of the build plate.
- Some forum notes suggest using hairspray on top of the tape, however I haven't had any adhesion problem that would warrant that.
- PET is hygroscopic, and if globs and other defects start showing up, dry it out.
