FreeCAD: move, copy, & trim commands
[last updated: 2019-04-25]
go to: FreeCAD: homepage
go to: Command & Operation notes
-----
- move elements:
- select object (it will be highlighted in model tree)
click move tool (crossed arrows in menu bar above workspace)
click (& release) to define first point ("move from"), move cursor, click to place
- alternatively: ...
- move/copy:
- select element
click move tool
position cursor and click to locate 'move/copy from' point
be sure 'Copy' box is checked
now locate 'move/copy to' point:
easiest IMO is to check 'Relative' box and enter desired coordinates
- trim a line where another line crosses it:
- select the line to be trimmed
select trim tool
position cursor over the end you want to discard, press & hold shift
(this has not always worked as I expected/intended)
move cursor to the crossing line where your want the trim/cut to happen, click
Note: However, this procedure needs correcting, because as written,
the actual cut happens where the cursor is on the last click, not at the actual cutting line...
