• $ lsusb
  to see list of usb devices installed
  with DVB-T installed: ID 0bda:2838 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL2838 DVB-T
• $ lsmod | grep dvb
  should list the loaded modules (drivers)
  However it returns nothing, no doubt because I had 'blacklisted' dvb drivers in previous attempt at installation
• Note: text for blacklisting that NooElec recommends is slightly different than what I did per Kenn Ranous
