IC-7000: Set Mode

(Procedure to set RF power is half-way down the page)_

  • Set Mode:
    • Used for programming parameters that only need to be changed occasionally.
    • Four Set modes:
      QuickSet
      Display Set
      Timer Set
      Misc/Other Set
    • General Procedure:
      • Refer to the operating manual (pp 120-136) f to find the parameter you want to change
        Find which Set Mode your desired parameter belongs to: QS, DISP, TIME, or OTH
        Note the Set Mode Item Number for your desired parameter.
      • Enter Set Mode:
        push AF(set) momentarily (top left knob)
        "SET MODE" header will display
      • Press F 1-4 to select the Set Mode desired: QS, DISP, TIME, or OTH
      • Use F1 & 2 to scroll through parameter list until desired one is highlighted.
        Rotate VFO knob to scroll through parameter options and select the option value desired
      • Press AF(set) 2x to exit out of Set Mode

    • Set RF Power:
      • When you first power on the radio, the output power will display on the screen for about 2 seconds.
      • Power settings are different and must be set independently for each band selected.
      • The RF Power parameter is located in the "QuickSet group," and is item #1 in that group.
      • Press AF to enter "Set Mode."
        Press F1/QS - QuickSet
        RF power is parameter #1
      • Rotate Dial (big knob on right) to change power setting to what you want
      • Press AF twice to exit Set Mode
        Turn power off then back on to confirm the settings are correct.
