(see below for 4-port hub)
-----

  • This is a miniaturized rPi. It has the same I/O and programming, but only has one USB port
(though see 4-USB port expansion shield Adafruit PID: 3298).
It has a mini-HDMI port for video.
  • There are several versions of this model. My initial purchase (2018-08) was Adafruit 2885, v1.3
There is No Wifi or Bluetooth on this model
  • Later (2019-11) I got a rPi Zero-W Adafruit PID: 3708 w/ headers
  • I have a case for it, Adafruit PID: 3252
  • ...
    ...
    ...

  • From raspberryPi.org:
The Raspberry Pi Zero W extends the Pi Zero family. Launched at the end of February 2017, the Pi Zero W has all the functionality of the original Pi Zero, but comes with added connectivity, consisting of:

      802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN
      Bluetooth 4.1
      Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

Like the Pi Zero, it also has:

      1GHz, single-core CPU
      512MB RAM
Mini HDMI and USB On-The-Go ports
      Micro USB power
      HAT-compatible 40-pin header
      Composite video and reset headers
      CSI camera connector

  • 4-port Hub:
    • Adafruit 3298 (link to:) 4-port hub Adafruit 3298
    • USB and power connection to the rPiZero are through "pogo" pins between the boards.
Alternatively, USB and power can both be supplied separately to the hub.
    • Power for 4-hub board comes from the rPiZero. It does not need its own power connection.
OTOH it does have a JST XH2.54 plug input to accept 5v power.
    • Each of the 4 USB ports has its own white LED activity indicator.
    • A ferrite ring must be placed over the ... pogo pins for the rPiZero-1.3.
    • When using Zero4U with Raspberry Pi Zero, Ethernet gadget should be disabled, or the USB hub may not be recognized.
