- Partitions are sections of a hard drive that are assigned/dedicated to specific files or functions.
When I configured my Dell tower to dual-boot between Linux and Windows, I followed tutorials to set up appropriate partitions so that Linux and Windows wouldn't encroach on each other. (prepare to install Linux)
- At some point (2020-Jun) I had a warning message about my Linux root partition being nearly full. I wondered if that might have been responsible for FreeCAD crashing so often. So far all I've done is to upgrade Linux from 19.2 to 19.3 and left partitions as-is.
