-----------------------------
- Program Radio ID:
This is normally your callsign, plus your DMR ID
- Menu, scroll to Settings, Menu/Select
Scroll to "Chan Set" and press Menu/Select
Scroll down to find menu item #13 "Radio ID"; press Menu/Select
- Create a new ID:
Scroll to "Add Radio ID", press Menu/Select
Menu/Select with Edit ID highlighted, enter numeric from microphone keypad, press Menu/Confirm
Menu/Select with Edit Name highlighted, enter text from keypad:
Enter text from microphone keypad:
When you are on any screen that has a text box with a blinking cursor,
waiting for a keypress,
In the upper right of the screen is a little box. It will either be: "AB" (caps), "123" (numeric digits), or "ab" (lower case text)
Repeatedly pressing "#" key on microphone keypad cycles through those options.
Select the one you want, then press the desired key on the keypad.
For text (eg. with "AB" upper case selected), pressing for example the "8-TUV" key once will enter "T" at blinking cursor position.
It will be highlighted for a time, and pressing "8-TUV" again while it's highlighted will change it to "U", and pressing again changes it to"V".
After a moment the highlighting will go away, and you can enter another successive character.
Press Exit/Delete to backspace across the last character entered
When done, press Menu/Confirm, then, with Save highlighted, press Menu/Select
- Edit an existing ID:
- This will over-write whatever was programmed before.
Highlight the ID you want to edit, press Menu/Select
To proceed to edit, press Menu/Option
Select what you want to edit, Name (callsign) or ID (DMR ID), press Menu/Select
Note - blinking cursor position. Press Exit/Delete to backspace across the last character entered.
Use microphone keypad (see below) to enter new characters at the cursor position.
When done editing/entering text, press Menu/Confirm
To save changes, scroll to Save, press Menu/Select
- When done editing, make sure the ID you want to use is the one that is active:
Menu > Settings > Device Info
However... it's apparently not that simple, because even though I created a new ID with my callsign and DMR ID, still Jay Stagnone who was receiving me on HR - Local 1 was seeing K7VIZ.
I tried to delete Colin's ID, but could not, giving me "ID being used" error. Ended up editing Colin's ID and replacing name and DMR ID with my callsign and ID. Verified with PNW.
- If you want to change to a different ID:
Menu > Settings > Chan Set > > (#13) Radio ID
Highlight desired ID, press Menu/Select, press Menu/Option, select Save, press Menu/Select
However, as noted above, this did not seem to work, that is, the PNW log screen still showed Colin's call & ID until I edited and over-wrote it completely ...
-----------------------------

- Create/edit Rx list:
- This is the list of talk groups that your radio will "listen to,"
and will play through your audio for you to hear,
even if they are not the current TG you are on.
-
-----------------------------
- Programming an analog repeater:
- (fumbling through...)
- go to VFO mode [??? maybe not ...]
I'd previously programmed my P5-short key to go to VFO
