- Recording a video with OBS Studio creates a .mkv video file.
To import an .mkv file into Blender (see Instructable link below):
- (top menu bar) File > New > Video editing
- (Sequencer menu bar, mid-page) Add > Movie
browse window opens. Navigate to movie file desired
double-click to load it
- Edit video in Blender:
- Tip to set up audio track:
Click the blue bar audio track
In Right-hand lower menu box, find Adjust - Sound
Click Display waveform
- In very bottom menu bar, at far-right end, you'll see 3 fields:
- The first is the time/frame marker for current cursor position.
- The second, labeled Start, is the frame marker where playback will start
- The last, at far right, labeled End, is the frame marker where playback will cease.
- You can change all of them in two different ways:
Position cursor over the one you want to change, and cursor changes to a double-headed arrow.
Click-hold and drag to re-position the marker to where you want it.
-OR- with double-arrow showing, single-left click to create an entry box
type the desired frame number and press enter
- To cut into a clip:
- Presumably you'll want to cut both video and audio tracks together:
