- WSJT is a suite of open source programs written originally by K1JT, for purpose of facilitating Weak Signal ("WS") propagation.
- Per the WSJT homepage (princeton link...):
"WSJT-X, WSJT, MAP65, and WSPR are open-source programs designed for weak-signal digital communication."
-
- As is often the case with open source projects, documentation and sites have some out-of-date information, so buyer beware.
Specifically, finding the most current version for your computer platform can be challenging.
- As near as I can figure, all of the protocols are designed for "minimum QSO" communication, meaning there's no content or chatting, it's just station identification sufficient to confirm a contact was made.

- (link to:) JSCall is NOT a part of WSJT software.
However it is derived from it, and is based on FT8 protocols. It is modified to allow actual communication, ie. message content (keyboard-to-keyboard text).
- 2022-04-11 downloaded: js8call-2.2.0-Linux-Desktop.x86_64.AppImage
It loaded and ran successfully as near as I can tell. I don't have my radio attached to my computer so it was just an investigation into the various screens and options available.
