• This is for an in-ground sprinkler system.

• Legalities: (here in The Dalles, OR)
  • In-ground sprinkler systems are required to have a "backflow preventer", usu. a double check valve,
    to keep ground water from siphoning back into the city water system.

  • Wasco County "backflow valve permit" (~ $68)
  • City of The Dalles permit (no charge)
  • Inspected by a Certified Inspector - cost ~ $50
    (list and contact info available from city offices)
  • Inspected by City
  • Annual re-inspection
  • Note:
    Inspections only look at the backflow valve and its connection to the city water.
    Water lines and sprinklers downstream (away from city water source) do not need to be inspected.
    If the backflow valve is moved at any time, it must be re-inspected.

• Booster Pump:
  • When first installed, my city water pressure, at about 45 psi, was insufficient
    to run all the heads I installed on my east parking strip.
  • I bought a booster pump.

    However 2024 I split the two sides, so I could power one side at a time,
    (currently 06/10 only able to do the north side)
    but that looks like it will be sufficient at least for initial heat wave...
