Prusa Slicer custom tricks:
-----
- Slicing is the process of converting your model, from whatever format you have (.stl, .dae, etc.)
into a gCode file that your printer will accept,
The gCode file will contain detailed instructions for your printer to lay down the successive layers (slices) to create your 3d model.
This conversion is done with your choice of several options of Slicing Software.
- When the slicing is done, and you have your .gCode file ready for your printer,
transfer it to your printer in whatever method it accepts.
On my Prusa Mk3, I copy the gCode onto an SD card, and insert that into the printer.

- Using PrusaSlicer:
Current 2020-10-12 version 2.2
- menu > File > Import > Import STL... then navigate to, and select the stl file you want to print
- upper right corner, select simple, advanced, or expert. Latter two offer more parameter options.
- On right side, set desired settings: print, then filament, then printer (in that order?)
(see SETTINGS link above)
- When settings are defined as desired, click 'slice now' in lower right corner, then 'export gcode', lower right corner
- It is possible to put custom start and end code into the gCode that PrusaSlicer generates. This allows, beeping, movements, basically anything you want to do at start or end of print, or at start or end of a layer.
