Inclinometer

Problem/Concept Statement:
I have an RV. When I park it, I want it to be level. I have levelling jacks and blocks, but I need to be able to know when I've got it level. I have several problems:

  • It's a 40 yr-old motorhome, so the floor and counter top, where I might want to put a bubble level, are not particularly level to begin with
  • as a result of which if you move the placement of the level 1" or less, it can slightly change the reading
  • plus a bubble level is inherently an "eyeball" device, with no digital output and inherently low resolution
  • plus the frame flexes differently depending on where you're jacking it up to try and level it, so readings on opposite sides of the coach can be contradictory.

So I decided to build an inclinometer that will read out analog values, hopefully in 0.5 degrees or less resolution, then I can define precise, repeatable places in the coach to put it, and see if I can develop a protocol for repeatable measurements.
