• 2024-10-07:
  • This is a re-start of my Element-14 pi-Desktop with a 500gB SSD.
    The initial build, in 2018, was disassembled somewhere along the way, and SD card with loaded software re-purposed,
    so this is my blog of the process to resurrect it.
  • Installed SD-17, with rPiOS installed via Imager. Booted successfully.
  • Newark site shows current software is the same version that I used in 2018:
    pidesktop-base-1.1.0.deb. Downloaded pidesktop-base-1.1.0.zip

    Unzipped (on BeeLink) to create pidesktop-base-1.1.0.deb.

    • Site also shows deb-make-1.1.0.tar.gz, which I also downloaded.
      Not used at the moment, but could install from source with it ...
  • Manually transferred (ie. in SD card reader) the .deb file to SD-17.
